My biggest problem with qrow is the alcoholism. After Monty died, they stopped treating it like an anime. A lot of animes have uncles who drink a lot. Qrow was that character in what was supposed to be Monty Oum's take on anime. Good thing we had to have a whole qrow getting sober arc.

Part that gets overlooked the most in this is how Tyrian uses his tail as a shield to deflect Ruby's shots. Some species of scorpion have insanely tough chitin, it's really difficult to crush. My first time eating one I remember pretty vividly just how hard I had to bite down on the tail to crack it. If we're working within fantasy framework it's not much of a stretch to say chitin would be able to block modern projectiles with some ease. I like this fight a lot.

To this day I'm still wondering why he was interested in Jaune because it cannot be about Jaune's abilities. I feel like there more to his story.

It's been a while since watching this but, wow! What a well written and choreographed scene! Someone in the comments said that this showcases the speed and reflexes vs power dynamic and I agree! There was one thing I wanted to add though. Qrow outmatches Tyrian when it comes to reflexes. He has a methodical awareness of his surroundings, running constantly because of his missfortune semblance! He manipulates the direction and location of a fight to heighten the probability that an unlucky event would happen in his favor! As vague as it is, Tyrian doesn't even have the awareness to look where he's stepping on the top of a broken roof! Meanwhile the mentally flexible Qrow is prepared for what's to come!

I love the 3 clangs when Qrow saves Ruby, the 3 different angles and her smile as thanks.

Qrow Bravely Fighting Tyrian To Protect And Save His Niece Then Ruby Returning The Favor By Cutting Tyrian's Stinger Off To Save Her Uncle From Getting Killed Is So Heartwarming And Really Awesome, Qrow Is Definitely One Of My Favorite Characters Of The Rwby Series

Jaune could take his blows Ruby was fast enough to match his speed but didn’t have the reflexes follow his move Ren had the reflexes but not the speed to match him Nora was powerful enough to damage him but not skilled enough to surprise him Qrow had the stats to do all of this

I love how Tyrian is simultaneously a terrifyingly effective assassin, and the living embodiment of "everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth". He was expecting a lot of things, but not a straight punch to the face.

I never noticed this before this rewatch: Tyrians's irides are normally yellow, but they're purple right after he envenoms Qrow. We learn in a couple seasons what Tyrian's Semblance is (aura disruption), but he actually used it here, whereas I'd always assumed Qrow's aura had been knocked out, which doesn't make sense in hindsight, since his semblance was still working.

When Qrow pushes Tyrian back, Tyrian looks scared.... Qrow really does outmatch him in strength.

Seriously, looking back on this scene, even though this was fight was animated after Monty's passing, it's still pretty good! Not as good as him but still really cool! Maybe I'm mistaken on this, but it makes you wonder why they didn't bring whoever made this scene back for the rest of the series...

I think Tyrian's interest in Jaune stems from the opposing nature of their semblances. While Jaune hadn't awakened his yet, Tyrian could have sensed it. Jaune's Aura Amp and Tyrian's Aura Disruption have opposite effects.

One of my favorite fights of all time, seeing how inexperienced team RNJR really was against a member of Salem's inner circle and finally starting to get some pieces to the puzzle as to what is the grand plot of the show

Qrow is a better parental figure to Ruby than her own father. Even though they're not related by blood their family dynamic is uncanny.
